Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

Jurnal Litbang Polri implements a rigorous peer review process as part of its commitment to scientific quality and integrity. The review is conducted systematically, objectively, and anonymously to ensure that every published article meets academic standards, sound methodology, and thematic relevance to the journal’s focus.

Type of Peer Review

This journal uses a double-blind peer review system, where both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other. This policy is intended to prevent bias and uphold objectivity in manuscript evaluation.

Peer Review Steps

  1. Initial Editorial Screening:
Each submission is first reviewed by the editor to ensure it fits the journal’s scope and meets basic administrative and formatting requirements.
  2. Assignment to Reviewers:
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
  3. Evaluation by Reviewers:
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, methodology, relevance, clarity of presentation, and scholarly contribution. Constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement may also be provided.
  4. Editorial Decision Based on Review:
The editor makes a final decision based on reviewers’ comments. The possible outcomes are:
  • Accepted without revision
  • Accepted with minor revisions
  • Major revisions required
  • Rejected
  1. Author Revision:
Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript in line with the reviewers' and editor’s feedback, within a specified timeframe.
  2. Re-evaluation (if necessary):
Manuscripts requiring major revisions may be re-sent to the same reviewers for further evaluation before a final decision is made.

Peer Review Ethics

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscript content
  • Provide constructive and professional feedback
  • Avoid conflicts of interest
  • Evaluate manuscripts fairly and scientifically

Review Timeline

The peer review process typically takes between 2 to 4 weeks, but the duration may vary depending on the complexity of the manuscript and the responsiveness of reviewers.
