Retraction, Withdrawal, and Correction Policy

Retraction, Withdrawal, and Correction Policy

Jurnal Litbang Polri upholds the integrity of scientific publishing and is committed to transparency and accuracy in the dissemination of knowledge. As part of its responsibility in scholarly communication, the journal adopts clear policies regarding retraction, manuscript withdrawal, and correction of articles that have been or will be published.

  1. Retraction

A retraction will be issued when there is evidence of serious breaches of publication ethics, including but not limited to:

  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Fabrication or manipulation of data
  • Unauthorized authorship claims
  • Copyright infringement or privacy violations
  • Critical errors in methodology or interpretation that significantly affect the validity of the research

Retraction Procedure:

  • A retraction will be published as an official notice by the editorial board.
  • The original article will remain available online but clearly marked as "Retracted".
  • A brief but transparent explanation for the retraction will be provided.
  1. Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript prior to publication with a clear and justifiable reason.

However, withdrawal requests will be strictly evaluated and may be rejected if made:

  • Solely to avoid revision
  • After the manuscript has been typeset or is ready for publication

All withdrawal requests must be officially submitted via email to the editor, accompanied by a written statement signed by all authors confirming the decision.

  1. Correction

Corrections are made when minor or major errors are identified in a published article, such as:

  • Typographical errors affecting comprehension
  • Non-substantive data errors
  • Incorrect author names, affiliations, or references

Types of Corrections:

  • Erratum – issued by the publisher for production-related errors
  • Corrigendum – issued by the authors for unintended mistakes

Corrections will be published as an official notice and linked directly to the original article.

Commitment to Publication Integrity

All decisions regarding retraction, withdrawal, and correction are made professionally and in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the principles of ethical scholarly publishing. This policy aims to maintain reader trust, protect author reputation, and uphold the credibility of the journal as a trusted scientific platform.
